Gene Editing in Agriculture
Powered by best-in-class technology, Pairwise tackles the challenges that our food and agricultural system face to achieve our goal of building a healthier world through better fruits and vegetables. Here, we describe work done by the Pairwise pipeline achieving agronomic improvements in corn and blackberry. In corn, we use DNA base editing to demonstrate a tunable increase in kernel row number, while in blackberry we use gene editing to achieve a compact structure and early flowering plants. Taken together, this work shows the power of gene editing and the Pairwise product pipeline to positively impact crop performance across various species.
