Carl is the Head of Botany/Plant Biology at University College Dublin and hosted the 2019 New Phytologist next generation scientist symposium. He received his PhD, focused in Plant Cell Biology, from Lancaster University and his MSc and BSc from the National University of Singapore.
Carl supported the organisation of the 2023 Next generation scientists symposium.
Research interests: Molecular responses of plants and crops to abiotic stresses. Plant cell biology and cell signalling. Climate change impacts on plant and crop physiology, and cellular and molecular responses.
